Fine.
Because of the blazing speed in which these pages have been loading lately, I’m allowing full text in my syndicated feeds. I don’t really have time to check Statcounter anymore, so it’s just as well. So if you’re using Bloglines or some other feed aggregate, you should get the whole text. Hopefully this will fix my del.icio.us blog import issues as well, but I doubt it. If you’re not using a feeds aggregate, you should be.

This is just a test of a new Firefox extension… hopefully better than press-it, which I’ve been using for on-the-go -ebjournal-publishing functionality. It seems to be working alright. Then again, you’ll know it worked if you’re reading this.
If you’re interested, (and why wouldn’t you be…) it seems to work with lots of blogs. Here’s the link:
Performancing.
If you’re not using Firefox, shame.

Peeps.
Do any of you change the theme on my site, or have a particular favorite? Did you know you can change themes? Do you not care at all? I’m looking to get rid of having so many themes, so now is your chance to speak up. Any time I want to change something I have to apply it to all themes, and that’s getting to be a pain. But, in the interest of democracy, I will relinquish choices to you. Now go forth and vote. (Must be literate to vote.)

Then go read Siberia, Minn. It’s well-written by a buddy of a buddy (does that make us friends?), and anyone who reads dooce is an alright guy. {/snark} Seriously though, this guy knows how to write, and pays attention. Enjoy. I’m going to keep working on my less than funny, lame stories. I’ve got a load of school stories that are begging to be written, along with what a bull moose looks like on skis. But now, I go to sushi. Later!

For the first time in a long time (months? I’m thinking back to August now…) I have a free weekend. Free in the sense that if I don’t get to my thesis, the world won’t exactly end for me it’ll just make things a tiny bit more difficult. There are about a billion and three things to do that I’ve been putting off, and had to put off, but they don’t involve progress reports, or grad school. Therefore, I’m more than happy to do them, because I’ll feel like a normal grownup who doesn’t spend unnatural parts of their free time not being free. I’m also not going out of town, much to the chagrin of a certain Strong/Dead Guy. I’m staying put. So, what do I do with my free time, you ask? How about YOU help me decide! Vote early, vote often, there’s a new poll up!

Now that my glasses have been duct-taped back together (Thanks, Tank!), it’s time for a New Web Poll Question. Vote early, vote often, this is Chicagoland.
Have a great weekend!

So, I got my comment email from Waj and Frank the Tank. Yet, when I go to the site, it says there are no comments. Then, if you click on where it says “No Comments”, it then shows the two aforementioned comments. If you go back to the main page (and refresh) it still says “No comments.” I allowed comments on the original post, and I loaded the page in different themes. Any suggestions, oh mighty smart people?
Back to work.

Update: After checking the ‘boards on wordpress.org, there are people having the same problem. Stupid Spam Karma. Just kidding, Spam Karma, you know I don’t mean it.
I’ll fix it tonight.

Update, again. Fixed. Whee.

I’ve added two more people to my blogroll.
MC and Crissy are married to each other, but they blog separately. They’re both very nice people. You should read their stuff, which in turn will motivate them to write more, and take up more of everyone’s time. (Their writing time, and your reading time.) So much time will be wasted, in fact, that nothing will get done and I will take over the world.
Step 1: Make everyone waste time.
Step 3: Take over the world.
Whatever.
Just go read their blogs, and continue to fall into my trap.

Welcome to 2.0. Did you notice any changes? You shouldn’t, on your side. Most of the changes on the inside are cosmetic, too. Whee.
Anyway.
Being the new year, and seeing as how I’m making my students write resolutions this week, I figured it would be good for me to pretend to write resolutions of my own.
Like my students, I’m going to have some personal and professional goals for this year (they have personal and school goals).
Here we go:
Professional:
1) Keep working on being organized. Every year, at least according to TLEMK, I’m getting better about it, but I still need MORE.
2) Figure out a way to integrate myself more into my staff without sacrifice my professional philosophy. Lofty, eh?
3) Get back to my roots: plan more, execute better, and see things more long range in terms of curriculum. And you thought I just cut out construction paper and made bulletin board displays.
4) Stay focused, and make the most of my time.
5) Get the kids to learn one new piece of technology this year…
Personal:
1) Be less fat. Time to get back to work on that bet with Zigzag.
2) Look into Netflix, and see if I can make it worthwhile.
3) No more library fines. Easy way to save literally $100 dollars. (Yes, I had at least that much last year. 10 cents/day x 30 books = 3 dollars a day, times a week overdue= 21 dolllars. Just for being a week overdue.)
4) Continue being a wonderful, loving, handsome, responsible husband.
5) Buy a house.
I’m sure I’ll have others, but that’s what I can think of right now.

So, um, I made a wishlist.
I like books and music, and stuff. People keep asking me what I want for special occasions. I don’t really want anything. But, I figured I might as well build this so that I can remember stuff for down the road. Besides, Amazon makes it so easy. I’ll try to keep it updated. It’s in the links over on the side too. Happy perusing!
My Amazon wishlist (beginning of it, anyway)
I’m feeling icky and happy at the same time. Stupid coroporate world making my life so easy, yet making me feel like a greedy little pig. (ooh, is the song in your head?)

Well, then, average 12.2 readers, have I got a new blog for you. Frank the Tank, is a smart, talented writer who shared a bed….room with me for two years, and an apartment for another year. He’s very smart, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll have to read the post twice to even understand what he’s talking about. But it’s good. Real. Good.
Welcome to the blogosphere, buddy. Enjoy your fade to anonymity and white noise like the rest of us.
Winter Break is here, so I will be catching up on my posts. Until I do, go read Frank. He’s got plenty to say for both of us.

Somebody’s stuck on reload… the same person reloaded my site 40 times in about a minute.
Last night’s presentation was way too long, but I *think* people are now more interested in blogging, both for personal use and in an educational setting. At the very least, they saw why I’m a little nutty about it. Thanks to all who gave me pointers. (Sidenote: I have way too many inside jokes here. People kept asking me about the T is for Knowledge, and what’s ebjournalling)
If you’re out there reading, Magnificent 7, thanks for taking the time, and try not to judge. I know I’m a tool. This tech class got me geeked up. I promise I’ll keep my mouth shut (as much as I can) for the next class.

Morning/Afternoon/Evening folks,
In my grad class tonight, I have to give a quick presentation on new technology that’s being used. It doesn’t necessarily even have to be school-based, so guess what? I’m going to give a short diatribe on the wonders of blogs/blogging. Things I’ll mention include:
1) How Easy Blogging (Ebjournalling) Is…
2) Designing your own vs. using someone else’s stuff vs. hosting your own and using someone else’s stuff.
3) Types of Blogs (Forum/Politics/Photo/Web Clippings) –I thought I would point out a few sites that I visit, depending on time.
4) Why Blogs are Important ( or are they?!)
What I need from you, loyal 12.4 readers, is suggestions. Anything you think I should use to introduce to the class. They (Hello, ladies!) know what blogs are, but haven’t had the opportunity to see what/why it’s out there, and why they’re such a big deal. (or over-hyped, as the case may be on this site
) In other words, what’s important to know about blogs/blogging?
Suggest away… and thanks!

Mrs. Zigzag, better known as Sleeping Cat, is an English Teacher. By default, this makes her writing infinitely better than my second grade b.s. She’s now gotsa blog… read it, chuckle, and tell her she’s a good writer. She also blogs more than the rest of us because she’s still in the “Wow, I really love writing about stuff! Yeah, STUFF!” stage of blogging. Go read her stuff. (Click on Mrs. Zigzag over there ——>)
It’s better than mine. And by better I mean she does not suck.

Ladies and gentlemen,
In the spirit of celebrating everything from ‘You tied your shoe! Buckeye!’ to ‘You said your /s/ sound right today, have a piece of candy!’, we here at the Ebjournal would like to take this 102nd post to celebrate the 100th post/page of the current incarnation of the site.
*AHEM*
Woo-hoo! 100 posts! Man, I can’t believe I’ve written 100 posts about my life! I’m so conceited and full of carp! (sic) Go me, go me, go me! WOOOOOO!
I couldn’t have done it without the following people:
Me.
Stuck.
TLEMK, for laughing at my lame attempts at humor.
Everyone else who claims to read this malarky.
Me again.

I’ve added another friend to the eb-roll. Her name is Dev. She rocks. Literally. As a drummer for an up-and-coming band, Dev is more talented and friendly than other soon-to-be rock stars. She comes from California, and calls this place I live in “the stupid I-state.” Secretly, I think she loves it. So secretly, she doesn’t even know it. Anyway, go read hers! Because she rocks. (LITERALLY.)

I added a very stupid page today. Mostly because I don’t want to tell you about how much I love/hate Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Oh, wait, that’s the next post. Also, my continuing struggles with grad school! (Don’t you all love my shameless self-promoting? I Know I Do!)
It’s over there ———-> under Pages.
Anyway, more ebjournaling soon.

Mmm, delicious irony:
I’m doing something wrong with my Gatekeeper software, which blocks spam bots. Normally, there’s supposed to be a question with the usual name and email requirements. However, it appears in IE 6 that this is not working, so people who want to comment (Hello Belle and Dev!) are unable to. Can someone help me out? You can leave a comment (ha!) or email me.
My first response was naturally, download Firefox @ http://www.mozilla.org (Safari isn’t supporting adding links today, and I don’t feel like coding it.)
HELP!
—————————————–
Update… I took out Gatekeeper, and now I’m running Spam Karma 2… hopefully it works! Good luck commenting.

1) Shout out to Dev, who recently discovered that I have a blog/ebjournal. She’s now reading it daily, and is prodding me to write more. So my diarrhea of the mouth is her fault. Welcome, Dev! You can comment too, if ya feel like it.
2) Shout out to Sarah, Zigzag’s twin sister. (She got the brains AND the beauty.) I’ve added her link to the friends category, and if she continues to blog like her first post, she will become a must read everyday. (No pressure, Sarah
)
3) Shout out to my bed, which I’m about to be sleeping in. You rock, Bed!

Between my new toy (the Panasonic digital camera; 5 nMP, 6x Optical zoom) and my new knowledge (Fireworks, and Dreamweaver), I’m working on developing a few pictures to show y’all. Please remember that I’m new at this. Be kind.
Also, I’m looking for suggestions for a hosting gallery. Flickr? What else is out there that’s good?
Anyhoo, here are some pics from my class. Click on the picture to enlarge ( I hope)
