More About Me…Not that it’s interesting…
Helpful little tidbits to get you through these pages…
1) Though I bemoan my job, I love it. Children give me hope, laughter, and wisdom on a daily basis. The perks of my job far outweigh the long hours, and other things about my particular school that I’m not quite ready to discuss on the World! Wide! Web! If I could remember all the funny things that happen at school I would never write about anything else. Since this is a site about all of my life, I try to keep the stories to about 33%. Which is just about the amount of my life that I devote to teaching. (Trust me, it’s less than it used to be.)
2) I heart TV. I can’t help it. I am blessed to have an ordinary life, so watching TV is part of getting enough excitement in my life. It’s sad, but it’s a lot better than being a crack-addict, right? RIGHT?
3) I overuse phrases that have been overused in mainstream media, about four years after they should have died out, and four and half after they should have ever been uttered by anyone resembling someone not on the cutting edge of what is passing for cool these days. Fo shizzle.
4) More about me:
Sign: Pisces. It supposedly means I’m not grounded, and I am over-emotional. It also means that I cry a lot at stupid movies and TV shows, such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. But if you tell anyone, I might kick you. And then feel really badly. And then cry some more.
Favorite Food: a) The Potato. b) Cheese, in most forms except E-Z. c) Bacon.
Favorite TV shows: Yes. It’s easier to mention what I don’t like. Actually, just go back and read. You’ll figure it out.
Favortie Sports: Yes. Football, Baseball, Basketball, Tailgating. Preferrably in that order. College and Pro, doesn’t matter.
Favorite Music: Yes. Name a genre, I can tell you something I like in it. I used to be cool, and like bands you’ve never heard of. Then I stopped, and now I just still like the stuff from the 90’s. I’m trying, really. I like new stuff. I just can’t tell you more than two songs by that particular artist, and that bums me out. For example, Kanye West, or The Killers. Good stuff, but I got nothing beyond what’s on the radio. I suck.
More to come, as I think about it.
Oh yeah, I love to read. Later.

29. January 2008 | 10:03 hHi,
My name is Dave Bolster and I’m writing an article for Earlychildhood NEWS, a monthly magazine for parents and teachers of young children (infants to age
. The article is about male teachers in the early childhood classroom.
I would like to ask you a few questions. Would that be possible? E-mail works best with me; I can just fire over the questions.
I would need to quote your full name for the article if that’s all right with you.
Thank you,
Dave
